Today was a really, REALLY long day at work. I was up at 4:45 this morning, after having gone to bed at around 12:00 a.m., and waking up every couple of hours throughout the night. I knew the nap I took yesterday after hiking was too long, but I was exhausted. Very much so. And the sleep felt amazing. I guess I should have expected a broken night’s sleep after that, but hey-ho.
It was a launch day at the Orchard today. I work for Apple, but not for much longer. I’m trying to find my way out of the fruit vendor’s grips, and into a better situation. As I wrote up another lesson plan for my class tomorrow, I was gently reminded that drafting a method of teaching, plotting out a discussion, with interactions and things for my students to do, is easy. I can manage this quite well. It’s second-nature. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say it’s in my nature. It’s my vocation. It’s what I should be doing instead of counting apples in an orchard.
In any regard, today was a long, arduous event, and I’m glad to be only a few feet away from my bed. I need the rest.
